We obtain this information directly from you, from your use of our website, and from service providers we rely on for operations (e.g., analytics, payment processing).
How we use data
- To create and manage your account, respond to inquiries, and deliver courses you select.
- To personalize content and recommendations, including adaptive practice plans.
- To process payments and issue invoices and receipts.
- To maintain security, prevent fraud, and ensure service reliability.
- To measure and improve website and course performance.

Lawful purposes and consent (PIPEDA principles)
We follow PIPEDA’s principles, including accountability, identifying purposes, consent, limiting collection, limiting use, disclosure and retention, accuracy, safeguards, openness, individual access, and challenging compliance.
- Identified purposes: we explain purposes at or before collection and limit use accordingly.
- Consent: we obtain meaningful consent unless inappropriate (e.g., legal or security requirements). You may withdraw consent, subject to legal/contractual limits.
- Appropriate purposes: we collect information a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances.
For Quebec residents, we consider Law 25 requirements, including privacy impact assessments for high-risk projects and transparency about automated decision-making if used.
Sharing and disclosures
We do not sell personal information. We share data with service providers who support our operations under contracts that require appropriate safeguards and limit use:
- Payment processors for secure transactions.
- Cloud hosting and storage providers.
- Analytics and performance monitoring providers.
- Communication tools for email and support.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
International transfers
Your information may be transferred outside your province or Canada. We take contractual and technical measures to protect it, and ensure service providers offer comparable level of protection to that required by Canadian laws. By using our services, you understand such transfers may occur.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law. Typical retention:
- Account data: for the life of the account and up to 24 months after closure, unless a longer period is legally required.
- Transactional records: at least 7 years for tax and audit purposes.
- Support communications: 24 months to improve service and resolve issues.
After retention periods lapse, data is securely deleted, de-identified, or archived as allowed by law.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, secure development practices, and vendor due diligence. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we continuously improve our controls.
If we detect a breach creating a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and report to regulators as required by law.
